Hi! I'm McKenzie.

I am a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) currently located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh. I am also a licensed dietitian nutritionist (LDN) in North Carolina and a certified dietitian nutritionist (CDN) in New York. This allows me to practice virtually in either state, as well as states that have no nutrition licensing laws. I have a Bachelor's in Health and Nutrition Science from Brooklyn College, and completed my dietetic internship in NYC through the University of Delaware.

I have led numerous cooking and nutrition classes for adults and children of all ages throughout NYC--in schools, at farmers markets, grocery stores, clinics, and community centers. With gratitude for technology, I continue to teach virtual cooking lessons for NYC students and staff. I teach in-person cooking and nutrition lessons at several locations in the Raleigh, NC area as well!

Although I love teaching group classes, my passion lies in one-on-one counseling. The group setting is a great start or long-term option for lifestyle change, but in order to get to the root cause of the problem, things must be worked on individually.

I started my practice, McKenzie Ziegler Nutrition, in 2020 with that in mind. I also knew I wanted to bring my personal experiences into my practice. I've lived with anxiety disorders since I was a young child, and overcame depression as a young adult. I struggled with my body image and low self-esteem, leading to disordered eating and orthorexia as a teenager and young adult. I went on a journey of intuitive eating and now lead a balanced lifestyle.

These issues I've struggled with are serious and tremendously hard to live with. I've had to deal with them almost entirely on my own. But here's the thing: these concerns are able to be recovered from, and you don't have to do it alone. You aren't alone. If you deal with any of these issues, I am here to help you.
